| | Surefoot - is it worth it? My last boots was a misfit. I understood it the first time I tried them in the hills, and for some reason I've kept on skiing with them for two seasons now. Closing in on 50 days with pains in my feet. And some of these days having to abort skiing due to pain.
I've checked around, and there really isn't a place in town where I want to buy my new boots. I've found a surefoot shop in Oslo (main capital in Norway), which is an hour plane ride away, or 6 hours on the train. It would cost me some money extra just for the trip there and back, and of course the boots will cost me some money.
Is Surefoot worth this to get proper boots?
Does anyone have the experience with them and tell me if it will be worth it?
Since I'm planning on skiing a lot this year, I really need good boots. My old ones lasted for close to 15 years, and I skied hundreds of days on them, and I had no problems. |

| | Re: Surefoot - is it worth it? I used Surefoot @ Copper Mountain for my boots. First I used them was just to do foot beds and then last year I spent the big bucks on boots & custom liners (my footbeds were still ok). They do an excellent job, though not the best in the state. One reason i went with them, instead of the three HIGHLY recemmended independents is:
1: They guarantee their work for as long as you own the boots.
2: They are located at all the resorts where I ski in Colorado. So, if I need an adjustment during the day, I can just pop in their stores and get one done...no charge. So very convenient.

| | Re: Surefoot - is it worth it? I haven't gotten boots from Surefoot, but I took a ski clinic last winter and one of my fellow students had just gotten new boots from them. She said she had a difficult foot to fit, and had never been happy with any boots until she got the ones from Surefoot. SHe said they had required a few tweaks, but now were perfect.
Her words inspired me to get custom liners for my boots (not from Surefoot), and I was very pleased with the results. |

| | Re: Surefoot - is it worth it? Regardless of the quality I would be hesitant if I were you. You're going to have to travel a significant distance from your home to get fit and this direction is not towards the slopes where you ski (as I understand it), so how will you have them adjusted (as you are likely to need after you ski in them the first few times)? I would be hesitant to go with a place that was not convenient to my home or my home mountain. Especially something so specialized as Surefoot, which no one at your home mountain may be willing or able to work on if needed.
Just my two cents! |

Are you going on any lengthy ski trips this year? Personally -after going through my own little boot trauma- I will in the future always make sure that I have at least a 1.5 wks of constant skiing close to where my bootfitter is and make sure to stop and get every last adjustment made during this time.
On another note, have you tried describing where you are having pain and giving the details to the bootfitters on EpicSki? They have a great group of bootfitters that are very helpful. It might be worth a try to swing over there and see what they say.

| | Re: Surefoot - is it worth it? Thank you ladies for all your advice. I will now wait until skiing season starts, and then buy the boots somewhere where I can get all the help available to tune them in. I have tricky feet, and will probably need a lot of tuning. Will also pop over to EpicBears before going out to buy new boots. | | Tags | custom foot beds, ski, skiing, surefoot, Surefoot Copper, Surefoot Guarantee, women's forums, women's ski, women's ski boot discussions, women's ski chat, women's ski forums, Women's Skiing, women's skiing forums, worth | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
