Default I'm just sayin'

I saw some reality show a while ago that had turned the entire house "green". One of the things that they did was you had to ride a stationary bicycle in order to power the computer. So, for one hour of use you would have to ride the bicycle for 20 minutes.

I think I need to have that installed.

I'm just sayin'

All this computer time is not so good for my booty!

Note to NVG: We need a fat smiley....

I would love that! To make electricity from ComEd just be a backup would be a dream. I can't imagine how it worked out, though.

I don't think it is either. I've got work on that.

I swear, there are people around here who really, truly do this!!! It's kind of a "reverse-status" kind of deal: they are called "living off the grid," meaning they are far enough away from any kind of electrical service (or too $$ to hook up) that they have to rely on alternative sources. A friend of ours, who is now ON the grid, used to employ the bike method -- for REAL!! (He's STILL in great shape, too!)

You all just wouldn't believe it: some of the alternatives to electric that people get set up. Absolutely wild. I can see one of the mountain-top places from my window! (during the day - it's not "lit" at night) The guy who did all the ceramic work in my bathroom lives "off the grid." Practically on the top of a mountain, in a farmhouse built in 1773.

I'm just sayin'.....I hope HE has a bathroom! IMHO, THAT is the most important room in the home!
