Been too long for me to remember the exact run, but bingo on Copper!
Nice, bluebird day, too - it was end of first week of April, that was about 8" fresh, superlative day. Year.....'97, '98???

YOUR TURN!!
Can't wait.
Make it tough

I lied...I think High Pointis the run...coming down off of the American Flyer lift. I though at first it was Andy's Encore off of Super B. Either, way, I KNOW THAT MOUNTAIN!

Let's see what I have....

We have a winner!
Yes. Pallavicini and the other is the East Wall These were taken on April 30th of this year...that is how amazing the snow still was.
This would've totally given it away.

Interesting----in that East Wall pic, there's a cat track then a boot ladder on the left, to the rocks. I'll bet DS climbed that route more than a few times! He was all about the Basin at that point in time last year and spent a ton of time on the Wall.

I am SO stumped by this picture!! I'm seeing 2 old Riblet double chairlifts in the photo and am wondering if it's an old photo? PLEASE HELP US OUT, Mindy, when you have the time - and full realizing that you are otherwise WAY preoccupied at this point in time...

But I'd sure love to keep this game going, as it's a ton of fun as witnessed on other forums, so I'm going to post an oldie-but-goodie and throw it out there to the members to see if anyone wants to restart this game.

Thusly, I present:

Your clues:
YES, it's labeled via properties, so you have the ability to cheat.
But do try first!
This is a VERY FAMOUS SPOT in the annals of North American skiing.
Legendary and infamous.
Anyone?

Nope. Nice try.
Go west.
Extreme-skiing rite of passage
(DH actually DID this, years ago - and stayed upright!)

MSL - never been to the edge to look over so I'm just guessing, KT-22 ? but it isn't infamous. And probably too far west.

KT22 is pretty infamous, but no, this isn't it. Yes, you're too far west! Keep trying!

As to Mindy's, Kirkwood sounds like a possibility! The key here is the proximity of the bases these 2 double chairs! Hmmm....

As to my pic, let's just say that this is the most famous/infamous run at this particular resort, the one all the "guys" want to be able to say they skied if they go there. Let's also say that a large percentage of those who "jump" into it (depends on snow amounts), fall and slide through it, and the clearance side to side at the upper aspect is VERY narrow!

Courbet's Coulior, Jackson Hole?

Is that a straight ski tip at the bottom?

WINNER!
Yes, that's Corbett's Couloir, circa 1975, and DH's 195 Rossignol ST650's prior to his successful descent!

Anyone else have any good ones (or do I have to keep digging around? )

Use your noggins on this one!

Considering the amount of snow they just got, this should be easy!

I'm gonna guess Alpine Meadows , photo taken from the beginner areal, lift on left is Subway , on right is Meadow chair. But, I could be wrong, cause I've never stood from that vantage point and looked up at Alpine. But it made me pull out the trail map for the place I discovered there are no trails & no need for a stinkin' trail map. I have a signature somewhere about that day. But it just doesn't look quite right & one too many lifts to the right.

Well, the answer is.....

NOPE!

Another hint: One of the words in the name of the mountain is the name of a country singer!

Ack! I'm confused! We have 2 pictures going now. I thought we had figured the other one out. My bad!

Anyway, my pic (snow on lift) is not in California.

Okay. Based on the clues:
June Mountain? (I actually checked the website TRAIL MAP to see if there were lift configurations like this, and....could be....)
Longshot: Alpine Meadows, which I doubt - doesn't look like Tahoe terrain to me.

NVG's - was going to make the obvious guess of Vail, but....do they actually still have ANY double chairs left there? (no idea) Great shot of snow depth ON the chair, wow!

Anyway, if I get one of these, my next job is to start scanning and uploading! Will be fun to show y'all some old pics! (which most/all have been from me anyway!)

It's not Vail. (Gotcha!)

I can't keep posting obvious Vail Mountains...

BUT....the snow on that chair happened over a 24 hour period and the ski area wasn't able to open that day because no one could get to the mountain...

It IS in Colorado!

I still don't know where Mindy's is..... Could it be "Faith Hill?"

Got it ! Mt. Reba ! Bear Valley area.
I like the hint to the Mountain name included. I think the mountain name is important to learn ! Course , I could be wrong again ! Mindy coulda meant the name of a country song not singer. Like Mountain High.

Yay! Anyone ever done Silverton? Yikes - extreme stuff! DS knows a guide there (and the requirements for being a guide @ Silverton are OFF the charts!) -- got a day in last season, un freakin believable. Closest thing to heli skiing in the region. LOTS of hiking!!

Okay, next up for your consideration (and I believe there are several here who could nail this one first look! ):

Photo taken in '98, so no idea if this SIGN is still there! Your hints: USA, and examine the background carefully, notably bamboo poles that are often set to indicates "gates" into this terrain. Big hint: similar sign at the base of this particular resort region.
