Wouldn't be all that far to travel for me, less than 2 hours. Hmm. But pricey..... Good cause, though, good for him.

Go represent us, MSL! If we each put in 5 bucks, we could pay your way pretty fast...

Couldn't do that, num. Kind thought, though, hopefully in jest! I'd rather make a more affordable direct donation to the foundation. If in Franconia, NH, region, however (I haven't checked, but that's where he's from originally), it's really a beautiful drive from here.

I might drive up for the golf, the club its at is where my father went to caddy camp. One of my best golf memories was having him drive me around he course while I played. Not that he could of played anymore, it was a nice stroll down memory lane for him and enjoyable.

MSL I'd think you'd want to go just to get outside & away from the black flies ??? I use the same reasoning myself for fundraisers. That is unless I plan on going & having fun !

Meff, hope you go & report back. Caddy Camp ? Cool, never heard there was one of those before.

I think that was a great idea you had ! If MSL wanted to attend, I'd make my contribution as well. It would still be a donation deduction, MSL could make our donation in our absence & have the fun for us. What do they call that when you assign someone to make your vote for you ? Can't remember. Same concept. Like sponsoring SkiSpirit in her walk/run for blood cancer, donating , but she does all the work ! I like the idea of donating for someone to have the fun for us !

Let me do some homework on both ends, including finding out whether DH works that weekend - will get back to you as to feasibility!

Okay MSL, let us know. I'm in for donating to the Turtle Ridge Foundation if you'll personally deliver my check as an aggregate collection towards your participation for whichever event you are able to attend.
Gee, I think it could be a "pay it forward " type thing ? Doesn't matter but the thought hit me anyway. I like the idea of someone having fun with me there in spirit !

Will know more soon - DH is checking weekend duty roster upon his return to work (he was off last week). He works every 6th weekend (sometimes 5 due to one in rotation with a very ill child), so I'll know more soon. Alas, I'm not up to the trip solo.

Well, I'm out.
As half-suspected/expected, DH is on weekend duty that weekend, no can do. Perhaps an alternate plan for donating? I'm game.
