We're all ok!

Mr. NVG & I are tucked into our cozy wedding suite (same one as last year) after a fabulous meal with Min!

SkiNurse is safely staying in Dillon tonight as she just needed a break after working 18 million hours and then sliding....just when she was trying to pull off in Dillon for a Pee stop! (She won't mind me sharing that!) So she is safe in Dillon!

SkiBum & Mr. SkiBum are safely tucked in in their condos, so we are all good! We miss you all out here! 18" of powder in the last 48 hours, and it's still dumping tonight!

EastBound Vail pass is closed.....darn....I couldn't get to work if I needed too!

We're all meeting for breakfast in the morning....and another great day of skiing! We miss you!

Oh yeah....it was REALLY cold. 5 degrees at the top around 1:00 pm and that's not including the wind chill! It was gusting upwards of 30 miles an hour. We all have windburn!

Snow Re: COLORADO SNOW!

On Saturday and Sunday our rule was "3 runs and a break", "3 runs and a break", repeat as needed. Keystone Gondola was closed; I heard that Aspen Gondola was closed also, as well as the upper lift (Lenawee?) at A-Basin. The weather definitely kept the crowds to a minimum.

It was fun to finally get some light powder. The high winds were smoothing out the snow, and the snow kept falling, so every run was a fresh delight.

I enjoyed my new (old, the pink ones 95 underfoot) Phat Luvs and can't wait to try them in some deeper powder. I hope they also work as well in the "Sierra Cement" we get at Mammoth.

Sorry we missed the party at Vail; we'll catch up next time for sure.

Looks like it may snow all week so we may be back pretty soon.

I think that was about our rule! Saturday the altitude was really getting to me and I was D-O-N-E far before I would admit it. Outhouse kept asking me how I was and I would reply "Great! Let's go!" when it was SO obvious that I was fried! When I finally dragged myself to my room I took a great nap, woke up and went to Spago's and then to see Children of Winter. Good stuff!

We'd better catch you next time! You both were missed!

We're going to see "Children of Winter" Saturday night with some friends.

And we WILL ski with you on our next trip to CO, which if it keeps snowing out there and not snowing at Mammoth may be pretty soon!

I knew there was a reason that I was ignoring this thread. Please ski a million turns for me. Because today I skied ice. Not a Colorado person's idea of ice. A mid-Atlantic/New England person's idea of ice. And guess who doesn't have sharp edges.

Ouch. Hear ya. Not good up here, either. The mega-pow (eastern standard) from last weekend has been hit. We go from 0 to 40 and rain here in sometimes less than 12 hours. The snow does not like this

Second rain event due in here this aft. (since Tues) Heard Wed was boilerplate up here. Thursday/xmas was high winds and closed. Friday better. Today, down the tubes we go again. Rain this aft. I'm dizzy....

Definitely take those boards in for a tune! Makes a huge difference. Believe it or not, we work on our edges after every 3rd hardpack to ice day out there. That's how intense the ice is on steel. Happily, DH is an edge, base and wax fanatic (yet another of the 101 reasons I picked him )

The season is way young, eastern skiers. Deep breath. Haven't even turned the calendar to '09 yet. Hopefully quite a few (good) months ahead!
