Looks like we may not leave until next weekend. I have a miserable cold and no energy. Also, a friend of ours that we help out is in the hospital. I don't want to leave until she is out and I feel better.

That way next Monday the 27th will be on first day on the WROD. BTW, looks like they got some snow which should improve the surface a bit, and there are no liftlines this morning.

I'll go on Wednesday with you!

Driving by Loveland Pass yesterday on my way to Steamboat, it really didn't look great to me. Weird to see the WROD surround by brown. No other snow.

But today, driving home, it had snowed up there yesterday/last night. NOW, the WROD looks more like a run that is skiable. I know, it's all cosmetic, but it seems more "natural" now.

Mtn. Cabin Re: A-Basin or Loveland?

ROAD TRIP!! Our friend is feeling better today; hopefully they will release her from the hospital on Monday. Hubby and I seem to have gotten some of our strength back as well. We bicycled yesterday and jogged today

So PLS ladies, where shall we meet at the Basin on Weds.? Not a whole lot of choices. I suggest the Black Bear Lodge at 10 am. Don't know if it's open, but it's a bit away from the ramp, and pretty much out of rider traffic.

Anywhere to meet is fine with me. I'm assuming that NVG & I will drive up together. I sent her an email yesterday..haven't heard back yet. But we know that she is one busy girl!

I'm REALLY looking forward to meeting you!

Must have a meeting place.

NVG, I've made a suggestion. It that's not OK, then tell me where and when. We will probably be out there earlier, and may meet up in the lift line, but a meeting place gives up a better chance.

I am so looking forward to skiing.

Yay!

OK...there is a "new" bathroom/locker room at the edge of the parking lot, near the patrol HQ.

How about there?? I know I'll have to utillize the restroom (wow that sounds prim & proper) after drinking my coffee on the way up! Then we can head straight to the lift.

Comments???

That sounds good! I'll have to pee, too! (not so prim and proper!) Also, isn't that where the tune shop is?

If we don't meet up there by first chair, our back-up meet-up could be your idea skibum!

SkiBum....do you still have my cell #? PM if you don't....I'll send it your way!

think of us poor east-coasters with pity while you ski

It's at least 2 weeks until any chance of skiing here - I know noplace can reasonably open this weekend, and well the following weekend is too busy.

My best friend is a patroller at Loveland, they got dumped on and continue to. They just opened their double blacks and some chutes. They are hogging the snow. Makes me sick that I'm stuck with the Colorado Pass sometimes when I drive right past the best skiing and sit in Summit County traffic...

A-basin has a lot of snow apparently too but it appears they are chicken $hit to open any more runs at this point... awesome. Next year = pass to Loveland.

The amount of snow at Loveland is PHENOMENOL right now. 4 feet in two days?!? Crazy.

I've only skied Loveland once. About 15 years ago, opening day. Miserable. My friends that do ski there LOVE IT. Last year I did get a four pack, never used it and gave it to some colelge kids at Abasin so they good use it Loveland's closing day.

I bought a 4 pack again and I SWEAR that I will use it this season.

So you mean I (the east-coaster) have skied loveland as much as a coloradan?

But we definitely had better conditions... too bad 2 east-coasters had no idea what to do with that much powder... in April!
