Well....update.

It looks like the bigger puppy is a boy and the tiny puppy is a girl.

They won't leave each other alone and Mom is VERY attentive! This is just so fun!

Oh...and one more thing!

I've been allowed to participate in the naming!

So I've decided I like Johnny (and since he's bigger, I'll call him Mr. Big ) and Carrie! Anyone know WHY? Duh!

Mom is a White Scottish Terrier! (rare!) Kadie's dad was a White Scottie, too! Dad is a Black Scottish Terrier...and we know that dad is probably 1 of the males that came from the family where my sister got Sugar!

It's gonna be wonderful to watch them grow!

This sounds like a "buy 1 get 2 free" deal

So has the family/breeder where Sugar came from been advised of this little mishap? I'd be interested to hear how it was explained!

Not yet. I don't think my sister will tell them. I'm not sure. They wanted her to sign something that said if she bred Sugar that they would get a cut of her profit (yeah....like she'd SELL them!)

Anyway, she is hesitant to tell them. I don't blame her, but it would be nice to get them AKC registered. They are pure bred Scotties!

Latest update from the proud Gma:

Both are males! Frankie is the largest (368g) and Joey is the smallest (188g). Frankie is black except for a little bit of brindle on his face. Joey is lighter, but still black (may end up being brindle) with one white paw, a small white spot on his forehead and a large white spot on his chest.

Sugar (Mommy) is a white (technically wheaten, but she really is white, white, white) pure-bred scottie (lots of people think that westies are white scotties, but they definitely are not) whose parents are both black. The father is one of the male scotties that the breeder had, so the babies are also pure-bred.

The breeder was creepy - he asked if I intended to breed Sugar because if I did, he wanted a cut since she is so rare. I have no intention to call him and let him know even though I would need to to register them. They won't be shown and they won't be sold, so papers aren't so important.

I'll post more pictures tonight - the pictures that are already posted are when they were 4 hours old. They have grown a lot in 3 days and they are moving around a lot more. Around 16 days, their eyes will open up and they can go outside.

It was a HUGE surprise, but a very happy one. Thanks for sharing our joy!

That's sad to hear about the breeder. Unfortunately similar nastiness occurs with cat breeders too - I've been luck enough not to "know", only "know of" such persons in the fancy. I suspect it may unfortunately be more common with dogs as dog showing/breeding is such big bucks. Sad but true. Plus honestly if Sugar came into heat and bred without their notice well... that says something else entirely about this person(s) which is not terribly good.

Anyhow happy for you and your pleasant surprise. Looks like you lucked out in Sugar being a good mom too! (sometimes animals don't know what to do when they have kittens or puppies ) Enjoy your additions!
